Fall 2017 Mission Update

Listen to our Fall Mission Update: Download Podcast

Thank you for your continued partnership and for enduring with us during our extended pre-field season. For two years, we’ve been seeking to build financial partnerships, undertaking cross-cultural and ministry training, and serving our local church bodies while we are still in central Ohio.

If you are reading our email or listening to our podcast, YOU have played a significant role as a financial, prayer, or resource partner. (Or maybe ALL of those roles!) It is a privilege to count you as a partner as we look back over God’s graciousness and faithfulness to us in the past, and with faces turned toward the future, full of hope for what God will do in His ministry in Colombia.

As Paul shared in his letter to the Philippians, we also are glad you are sharing in our trouble and have been in partnership with us from the beginning of our missionary-ministry life.  (see Philippians 4:14-15)

We also want to apologize for our lack of communication over the summer. We are working to revamp our communication process with our ministry partners. We hope and pray that the style of updates will be beneficial to facilitate your connection with Team Kim, and to share specific requests that you can pray over.

  • We felt discouraged by a slowdown in partnership building during the summer due to the nature of summer schedules of churches and families.
  • Even with the slowdown, God has been faithful in providing new partners and resources over the last few months.
  • We are currently 65% funded for our monthly financial need, and pray that we will be fully funded by end of this year.
  • We were refreshed and encouraged by attending a Spiritual Formation and Marriage Retreat near Camino Global headquarters in Dallas.
  • We took the opportunity this summer to re-think and re-group our approach to partnership building.
  • We would love to see more small groups and churches become long term partners. (Check out the videos on our blog)

  • For God to open opportunities to share with small groups and churches
  • The formation of a consortium of central Ohio churches for Colombian missions (link)
  • Opportunities to share with small groups from different churches
  • For our partners to endure with us in this extended time of pre-field preparation.
