The Embera Katio of the Alto Andágueda are an unreached indigenous people group. They have a population of several thousand living in a remote region of Colombia where guerilla violence occurs regularly. A fellow missionary, Travis, has learned their language and has been sharing Bible stories with some of the internally displaced members of the Embera Andágueda. There is no written language, so oral storytelling is a key to sharing the gospel. Kyu has worked alongside Travis and Edgardo* (name changed) to record and edit audio files. Via YouTube and messaging, these stories can be shared easily among the Embera Andágueda, most of whom are hearing these Biblical narratives for the first time. To date, Kyu, Travis and Edgardo* have been able to produce 6 audio recordings. Pray the good news of Jesus will reach this indigenous group for His glory!

With recently approved visas, an abiding passion for cross-cultural missions, and a love for Colombia, we are excited to continue serving the Lord in the Medellín area. Over the last five years, there has been a gradual decline in monthly partners as their lives change. Our living costs are rising as Colombia set the legal 2024 increase for cost of living at 13%. Many of the Deep Roots ministry projects we are planning for 2024 require funds. With all these factors in mind, we are looking to add more monthly and/or one-time financial partners to our team. We are SO grateful for the Lord’s provision, and the faithful giving and prayers of our past and present partners.
