I was looking at our local church’s Youtube channel while waiting for our latest Sunday service video to upload. I was amazed as I looked through the available videos and the dates they were posted. Our first Sunday service video was uploaded on March 22, 2020 at the eve of pandemic prevention shutdown in Colombia. We’ve uploaded 51 virtual Sunday services, logged over 2,400 hours of view time, and reached people in multiple parts of the city, multiple cities across Colombia, and even multiple countries (Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and USA to name a few). We’ve had unbelievers inquire about the gospel and new people join the church. Most importantly, those who have been consistently participating have grown in maturity and in their personal walk with God.
I’m thankful for God’s goodness and favor in the development of this media support ministry. Thank you God for inviting us to participate in your work!
For those of you who are ministry partners, we thank you for enabling us to help the local church through your pray, resource, and financial investment here in Colombia. This ministry is also a fruit of your labor.
Pastor Jon and I had limited resources + limited experience = a steep learning curve For a couple month, he could only film from his apartment. He would pass the files over to me and I would edit it at my apartment. Recording announcements What it looked like on screen Mid year, we were allowed to go back to church to record I’ve been the point person in the post production process for the Sunday services It was a steep learning curve for me. While I’m familiar with graphic design, audio/visual production of this scope was new to me. We kept learning, collaborating, and improving our process. Thanks to our partners, we’ve been able to upgrade the camera and add a TelePrompTer. We praise God for His goodness and faithfulness and we thank you partners for journeying with us during this historic time.
