Rewiring Moses’ brain

So the thought occurred to me that maybe Moses, at the burning bush, was dealing with culture and language fear/anxiety. For whatever reason, in my head, I thought Moses had a speech impediment or major confidence issues, and maybe he did. Or maybe it was language brain rewiring (link). Of course, other things may have […]

50 years to mature

Today’s event at our local church may may have gone unnoticed by the world. We won’t be in tomorrows headlines nor are we going to be trending anytime soon. It’s unlikely we will see this event bear fruit for some time but we are excited and humbled to have witnessed a seed being planted. Much […]

Sawdust and Varnish

Stopped by a carpenter’s workshop today to ask about a table…. Love the smell of saw dust and varnish but especially the organized chaos of things getting trimmed and built. Is that weird? PS: The guy working there very kindly reminded me to watch out for the table saw. I was grateful for the advice 😬

Cultural Observations #001

A couple days back I went to my local bank to setup an account. Did some research online about what I needed to do and what to expect. I’ve mentioned one of two things on the video. Listen well and polite. It’s customary for private security guards to patrol private banks here in Colombia. Usually […]

It’s Official…

We were so blessed today by our family—both the physical and spiritual ones—as we were commissioned for our service in mission work. What an awesome, weighty, humbling, exhilarating day! We are so thankful for the prayer, giving, and work done by many people for our benefit. The Lord has done great things for us, and […]

Paperwork…

About two weeks ago, Anna and I had the opportunity to share the good news that we are fully funded! So what have we been up to since then? Paperwork… For most people, the experience of going to a foreign country is typically short-term for vacation or for work. You pack what you need for […]
